We are excited to offer an in-studio or virtual format for this special watercolor workshop.

In this welcoming beginner/intermediate watercolor workshop, artist & instructor Brie Milam will guide you through the basics of watercolor and provide step by step instruction on how to create a unique watercolor portrait of your own home. Students will learn useful techniques for creating an architectural painting, such as sketching using the grid method, wet-on-wet watercolor painting, layering with watercolor, and color mixing using a limited palette. By the end of class you will create a beautiful watercolor portrait of your own home!

Students will need to bring a printed photo of their house, no bigger than 8x10”, which they will use as a reference for their painting. All other materials and tools will be provided.

Virtual: Students that choose the virtual option will receive a zoom link upon registration. Supplies you will need at home are watercolor, watercolor paper and pencil and ruler.

Bio:

Brie Milam is a watercolorist whose career began nearly a decade ago when she made her first watercolor painting. Over the years she has taught sold out workshops, created a clay jewelry line, designed hand-painted clothes, and led guided art and meditation classes. She has exhibited in group shows and has placed work in several private collections. Her commissioned works can be found in both private and public collections. This past October she debuted her first solo exhibition of watercolor paintings ‘Untamed Landscapes: Impressions of North Texas.’ Milam lives and works in Dallas, TX though she is often out on the road finding inspiration in the natural world.
